The AARE Executive wishes to make the following statement:

In 2023 the Australian people will be asked to vote in a referendum that proposes to amend the Constitution to establish an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Voice to Parliament. This will be an independent, representative advisory body for First Nations people.  The Uluru Statement from the Heart (2017) sought such constitutional reform ‘to empower our people to take a rightful place in our own country.’

The award of Honorary Life Membership recognises current members of AARE who have demonstrated a long-term commitment to AARE as evidenced by long term membership of, and active participation in, the Association, and who have made a substantial contribution to educational research.  

AARE Members are encouraged to review the award criteria and the AARE website and submit nominations to Annette Woods, AARE Secretary via email secretary@aare.edu.au by 12 noon Monday 30th October 2023.

The Conference Awards program for 2023 is open. The due date for all award submissions will be 31 August, 2023.
