President's Report

Welcome to the early spring edition of the association newsletter. In the 2014 mid-year newsletter I made reference to the AARE strategic plan. By now you will have received through your member alerts advice on our 2014 strategic initiative. The Executive is also delighted to advise and accept the nomination of Professor Val Klenowski from Queensland University of Technology to the vacancy of the Research and Development  Co-ordinator for the term ending in 2015.


SIG News

We are pleased to announce the outcomes of the 2014 SIG Competitive Grants for the following SIGs: History and Education, Educational Theory and Philosophy, Language and Literacy, Educational Leadership, Poststructural Theory and Social Justice SIGs and Health and Physical Education. Two significant changes to SIG Leadership processes have been implemented in the past 12 months.

Update on planning for the 2014 joint AARE/NZARE Conference, to be held in Brisbane, 30 November to 4 December.


Australian Educational Researcher Ranked 117/2019

Our new outreach strategy is assisting in communicating educational research to the whole community: researchers, teachers, school leaders, parents, public servants and politicians. These strategies are aimed at increasing the quality and impact of research published in AER; something that is beginning to be recognised by our 2013 Journal Impact Factor of 0.704


Call for Nominations for AARE Executive

Nominations for the following positions on the Executive Committee of AARE should be forwarded to the Secretary by 19 September 2014: Communications Co-ordinator, Secretary, Ordinary Executive Members and Postgraduate Student member.


AARE Distinguished Fellow Award 2014: Call for Nominations

The AARE Distinguished Fellow Award recognises outstanding leadership and service within AARE. Nominees must be current AARE members and will have played a significant leadership role in the development of AARE as a national association for education research over an extended period (5+years).

The AARE Distinguished Fellow Award recognises outstanding leadership and service within AARE. Nominees must be current AARE members and will have played a significant leadership role in the development of AARE as a national association for education research over an extended period (5+years).
