Abstract:
This paper examines aspects of educational policymaking in the Australian States, with emphasis on policy on schools rather than in the postsecondary arena. The paper has been written as a contribution to the Federalism project based at the Australian National University.
The paper will examine the structure of educational policymaking in the States before turning to trends and issues in educational policymaking. Someexploratory comments are offered as to reasons for the differences amongpatterns in state policymaking, and mini case studies are presented.
