Abstract:
Among other things, the present survey was designed to determine the socio-demographic characteristics and service-related needs of the LOTE-enrolled student clientele of two large LOTE-providing Victorian schools (Correspondence School, N = 1438 ; Saturday School of Modern Languages, N = 7583 ). The paper presents a summary of the descriptive features of the obtained data, and provides a comparative examination between the student clientele of the two schools in terms of the underlying dimensions related to reasons for studying LOTE's, and reasons for school enrolment. The implications of the findings for the provision of LOTE services to students are discussed.
