This paper will discuss the methodology and findings of a research project jointly sponsored by the Country Education Project and the Curriculum Branch of the Ministry of Education and carried out by the Centre for Studies in the Curriculum at Victoria College - Rusden Campus. Specific attention in the presentation will be given to the development of a definition of comprehensiveness and to the identification of a range of strategies for achieving it in small post primary schools in rural Victoria. Suggested dissemination processes for the findings of the report and a summary of the recommendations will also be addressed.
