Abstract:
The teaching of punctuation can be undertaken effectively within the context of computer error checking while the student writes. This project examined the increase in writing skills after using a computer program "STORY". The use of the program was found to be beneficial for group as well as individual use and its design philosophy steers a middle ground between teacher-controlled and learner-controlled software. This design philosophy is dis- cussed in the light of student and teacher response.
