Abstract:
Past research has confirmed that anxiety about teaching is a common experience. In the present investigation the objective was to determine Whether the level of anxiety experienced by teachers while teaching was related to student evaluations of teacher effectiveness, and to anxiety arousal in students. The results revealed a significant inverse relationship between teacher anxiety and student judgements about lesson organ- isation, positive teacher affect and teacher confidence. Teacher A- state while teaching (but not teacher A-trait) was also found to be positively related to student A-state while being taught.
