Abstract:
The usefulness of case studies for evaluation of education programs has been enhanced by developments in case study methodology and qualitative data analysis in recent years. This paper explores the contribution which a multiple case study approach together with the use of progressive data matrix construction analysis methods made to an evaluation of a project for health education/promotion in the context of community development. Two multiple case studies are presented of thirteen and twelve member cases respectively. Conclusions are drawn about how a successful performance in the processes of preparation and training in community development lead to a later successful health education/promotion activity. The application of the methodology to school based health education programs is foreshadowed.
