Abstract:
Attending conferences, such as the present AARE Annual National Conference, is a valid, legitimate, unique and integral part of undertaking educational research. Thus, funding people to attend such Conferences is, in fact, funding educational research. Given that educational Institutions, as well as formal funding bodies, tend not to recognise this, it is hoped that this paper might be instrumental in widening and extending the basis on which research funds are allocated and distributed.
