Abstract:
This paper provides a progress report on facets of a wider study of interprofessional teamwork that supports a child with severe disabilities in a regular child care centre. Particular attention is paid to the grounded theory methodology being employed and some findings that are emerging. One of the key factors leading to successful integration of a child with severe disabilities into a regular care and educational placement is the quality of teamwork displayed by all those whose efforts support the initiative-teachers, care-givers, therapists, parents, medical practitioners, aides and the child's peers.
