Abstract:
This article will consider snippets of gay and lesbian school experience. The focus will be on subject content in curriculum. I will argue, based on the interviews that I have conducted and drawing on existing literature, that gay and lesbian students report a heterosexist bias in the subject content that they encounter in schools. I will then argued that as a result of this that their school experiences are not as successful as they might otherwise be. I will then suggest that one implication of this is that school policy should name sexual orientation.
