Abstract:
The above team from University of Sydney and University of Technology, Sydney are working with the Melbourne-based National Curriculum Services to conduct a national mid-program analysis and policy review of all Key Competencies Pilot Projects in Australia, in the light of the interests and needs of key stakeholders. The project also includes an analysis of international experience and recent relevant research. The final report is due at the end of October 1996. So far the project is on track.
The purpose of the project is to identify the extent to which research and program development to date indicates opportunities for further development, reconceptualisation and refinement of the overall program in key competencies. These opportunities are being identified under four general headings:
Curriculum
Teaching and learning practice
Assessment and reporting
Interpretation of the key competencies, e.g. in different contexts
