The Effect of Using Digital Learning Materials WithScientific Approach towards students’ physics competencies in SMAN 2 Padang

Physics competencies among high school students in Indonesia still show a low achievement. Some contributing factors regarding these problems are. First, the learning model, which is implemented by teachers is not able to encourage students to use a project as a mean to find and solve Physics problem. Second, teaching materials which are used by teachers are not based on scientific Approach as expected by the national education curriculum in Indonesia. Then, the use of Information Communication and Technology (ICT) in Physics learning is not optimal in this digital age.To overcome this problem, digital learning materials which are arranged based on the scientific Approach is applied in teaching physics through Project-Based learning model in the class. The purpose of this study is to examine the effectiveness of using digital learning materials and examine the influence the use of digital learning materials which is arranged based on the scientific Approach through project-based learning model towards students' Physics competencies in SMAN 2 Padang.This research uses Randomized Control Designs, so two classes that would become the focus of this study such as the experimental class and control class. The population in this study is students at grade 10 in SMAN 2 Padang, which is registered in the 2015/2016 school year. Regarding how to collect the sample, this research uses the Purposive Sampling Technique. Then, the instruments of this research are first, written test sheet to measure knowledge competency, second, sheets of Project-based learning procedure to measure skills competency, and then observation sheets to measure attitude competencies. In this study, the data analysis techniques which is used to answer the first hypothesis is a correlated t-test and in order to answer the second hypothesis, it uses t-test (two similarity test averages).Based on research, 1) It turns out the effectiveness of digital learning materials has a coefficient of r between pretest and posttest of 0.81, and there is significant difference between the results of learning after and before use digital learning materials, so that digital learning materials effective in learning with a confidence level of 95%. 2)There is a significant influence on the use of digital learning materials on students' competence in attitude, knowledge and skills. There is a general increase in attitude competence in every meeting in the experimental class and it results in a significant influence on knowledge and skills competencies with a confidence level of 95%.
