Research-Creation Workshops: Developing Arts Based Interventions into Sexism in the Academy
Call for Expressions Of Interest
Are you a female academic working or studying in education?
Have you experienced sexism in the workplace? Recently? A long time ago?
Would you like to help produce creative interventions into sexism in the academy?
If so then you are invited to submit an expression of interest to attend one of two research-creation workshops.
We welcome participation from women of any career stage, from cisgender and trans* women
From women with any artistic ability or none.
Two research-creation workshops will take place as follows:
Friday 12th August, RMIT University, Melbourne, 9am-5pm
Friday 21st October, QUT, Brisbane, 9am-5pm
The research/creation workshops will commence with a plenary address from Professor Sue Greishaber (Monash University) at the Melbourne event and Professor Carmel Diezmann (ACU) at the Brisbane event.
There will be plenty of opportunities to share experiences and to develop creative interventions into sexism in the academy. Both events will be catered.
Your EOI should be approx. 250 words and should outline your interest in the research/creation workshops. You must be a financial member of AARE in order to submit an EOI. Places are limited to 25 per workshop.

The Developing Arts Based Interventions into Sexism in the Academy project has been funded by an AARE Strategic Initiative Grant and is being conducted by Dr. Emily Gray (RMIT University), Professor Mindy Blaise (Victoria University) and Dr. Linda Knight (Queensland University of Technology).
