This first half of this workshop offers PhD students and early career researchers guidance in how to target and submit to journals. The second half is a seminar on receiving, 'surviving' and responding to reviewer feedback.

10.30 -11.30 Panel Session

A panel comprising Professors Allan Luke, Annette Patterson and Sue Grieshaber, all experienced journal editors in different educational fields will discuss:

  • Journal impact; journal choice
  • Researching and targeting appropriate journals
  • The editing process

There will be opportunities for questions from the floor.

11.30 - 12.00 MORNING TEA PROVIDED

12.00-1.00 Seminar

Dr Robyn Henderson (USQ) and Associate Professor Patrick Danaher (USQ) will walk participants through a process of responding to peer reviews of articles submitted for publication. Using examples of their own successes and failures, they will also consider a range of other important issues, including dealing with rejection and learning from the review process.
