AARE pre conference workshopsSunday 30 th November, 2008B Block - QUT Kelvin Grove Campus - QUT MAP (pdf) An exciting selection of workshops has been planned for Sunday 30th November, 2008. The workshops are targeted at RHD and ECR academics. Participants may attend the morning session, one of a selection of two afternoon sessions, or both the morning and one afternoon session. Morning and afternoon tea will be served at each session. Lunch is not included in the price for the sessions. Lunch is available for those who are here for the day at the variety of cafes and restaurants (fast food and sit down) within the urban village. Registration for the conference and the President's Reception will be held soon after the afternoon sessions finish, rounding off a brilliant day for our participants. Workshop 1 (10.30 - 1.00) Getting PublishedDetailsThis workshop offers PhD students and early career researchers guidance in how to target and submit to journals. It includes a panel of publishing experts, and a practical seminar on receiving, 'surviving' and responding to reviewer feedback. The workshop will demonstrate the relevance of CDA as a resource for investigating discursive practices in cultural contexts. Participants will have an opportunity to work with their own data and are encouraged to bring data sets to the workshop. The aim is for the session to be informal, conversational and responsive to participants' interests.
