Guidelines for Submission
- All proposals should be submitted electronically. For more details of this process please see www.aare.edu.au
- The deadline for submission of proposals including Abstracts for Papers, Abstracts for Symposia and Panels, and Full papers is 31st. May 2008.
- Authors may offer no more than two submissions on which they are lead author.
- Presenters are encouraged to collaborate and present in symposia or panel sessions, electing either a one-hour slot (for a maximum of 3 papers), or a two-hour slot (for 4 or more papers).
- Researchers are encouraged to work collaboratively across disciplines, phase of career and institutions when proposing panels and symposia.
- All symposia, panels and individual papers submitted must indicate the SIG or single Key Word which most closely relates to the topic of their paper.
- All abstracts will be reviewed. All full papers will be peer refereed anonymously. Further details of the procedure can be found at www.aare,edu.au
- The person who submits the proposal (ie usually the symposium or panel organiser or lead author of individual papers) is responsible for communicating with all other participants, whether co-authors or other presenters and discussants within symposia and panels, about the decisions of the reviewers, dates and times of the presentation and so forth.
- The lead author of all individual paper presentations, symposia and panel presentations must be registered for the conference by 31 August 2008 or the paper will be removed from the program. Presenters must register for the full conference to be entitled to present. Teacher presenters who identify their proposals (abstracts or full papers) by using the Keyword 'Schools Research Showcase' may attend the conference on 2 December only, for the cost of one day's registration.
- Abstracts must be abstracts of papers (not presentations). Authors are strongly encouraged to provide copies of a full paper (4000-6000 words) for distribution at their presentation.
- All conference presenters are strongly encouraged to submit a hard copy and a disc copy of their paper to the Conference Secretariat for inclusion in the AARE digital archive and the ACER Cunningham Library for The Australian Education Index.
Abstracts should address:
- Introduction to the topic or context and/or mapping of the literature
- Aims of the project or research questions and/or focus of enquiry
- Research methods and/or analytical and/or theoretical framework
- Research findings and/or contribution to the field
Individual abstracts are to be 1000 words. Abstracts for each paper within a symposium are to be 400 words. Abstracts included in full papers for refereeing are to be 300 words.>
