The AARE Journal

The Journal of the AARE, the AER, is published three times per year. The AER is a fully refereed journal. All papers (with the exception of the President's Address) are blind peer reviewed by at least two peer reviewers and an advisory editor. The journal is indexed internationally. For impact and citations see ISI, Thomson Scientific's Social Sciences Citation Index ® Web of Science®.

The Australian Educational Researcher aims to:

  • Promote understandings of educational issues through the publication of original research and scholarly essays.
  • Inform education policy through the publication of papers utilizing a range of research methodologies and addressing issues of theory and practice.
  • Provide a research forum for education researchers to debate current problems and issues.
  • Provide an international and national perspective on education research through the publication of book reviews, scholarly essays, original quantitative and qualitative research and papers that are methodologically or theoretically innovative.

Contributions from a variety of disciplinary perspectives on any level of education are welcome.

Book reviews are published with each edition. Books for review should be sent to the Book Reviews Editor, Dr Mary Ryan, School of Cultural and Language Studies, Faculty of Education, Queensland University of Technology, Victoria Park Road, Kelvin Grove, Queensland, 4059, Australia.
