At Melbourne in 2010, we encourage researchers from Australia and our international colleagues to bring local, national and global perspectives to engage with the conference theme Making a Difference, by addressing issues of inclusion and diversity through new approaches to teaching and learning, innovative forms of leadership and management and new approaches to meeting challenges in research methodologies, production and publication.
Melbourne is an ideal city for a conference emphasizing diversity and inclusion. It is home to one of the world's most harmonious and culturally diverse communities. Since 2002, Melbourne has been consistently ranked amongst the World's Most Livable Cities. It is a city known for its vibrant energy, its outdoor lifestyle, restaurants, café-filled laneways, cool bars, unbeatable galleries and spacious parks. The University of Melbourne is situated in the centre of Melbourne, close to the Botanical gardens and the culture and cafés of Brunswick and Lygon Streets.
The conference will open with a Welcome to Country by the Wurundjeri people who are the Traditional Custodians of this Land. We warmly invite all education researchers and educators from across all sectors to join us for what promises to be a refreshing, innovative and stimulating conference.
